Cosmetic Injectables in Christchurch by Registered Nurses

Registered nurse performing a cosmetic injectable treatment at Silk Clinical Aesthetics, Christchurch

Quick Answer

Cosmetic injectables in Christchurch at Silk Clinical Aesthetics include anti-wrinkle injections (Botox and Dysport), dermal fillers, lip filler, skin hydration injections, and fat dissolver. Every treatment is performed by a registered nurse, led by founder Shontelle Prasad. Anti-wrinkle injections are priced per unit ($6 to $14 depending on product) with a $160 minimum per visit. Filler is priced per syringe from $350 (lips 0.5ml) or $500 (1ml). Consultations are included before any treatment.

Cosmetic injectables are prescription medicines. In New Zealand, anti-wrinkle products like Botox and Dysport, and dermal fillers, must be prescribed and administered under the supervision of an appropriately credentialed practitioner. At Silk Clinical, that practitioner is Shontelle Prasad: registered nurse, clinic owner, and the person performing your treatment.

What that means for you: your treatment plan is built one face at a time. We don't run package deals on dose. We don't use a one-syringe-fits-all approach to filler. Anatomy varies. Goals vary. The product, the dose, and the placement should reflect that.

Most clients in Christchurch come in for one of three things: softening expression lines, restoring volume that has been lost over time, or refining a specific feature. We'll talk through what you actually want, and what is realistic, before booking any treatment.

The clinic sits on Victoria Street, a few minutes from the central city offices and Cranmer Square, so appointments can sit inside a lunch break. Anti-wrinkle treatment takes around fifteen minutes once the assessment is done, and filler appointments run longer because we numb properly first.

05Common questions

Injectables: your questions

Both contain botulinum toxin type A. Dysport tends to spread slightly more from the injection point, which works well in larger flat muscle groups like the forehead. Botox is often preferred for smaller, more precise areas. Pricing differs because the unit measurement is not equivalent. At Silk, Dysport is $6/unit and Botox is $14/unit, and per-area cost works out broadly similar.

Anti-wrinkle injections are priced per unit: Dysport at $6 and Botox at $14. Single areas start from $160, with packages at $380 for two areas and $600 for three. Dermal filler is priced per syringe: lips from $350 (0.5ml) or $500 (1ml), and structural areas from $500 per ml. Pricing is confirmed at consultation before any treatment.

Anti-wrinkle injections typically last 3 to 4 months. Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers last 6 to 18 months depending on the product and treatment area. Skin boosters need a series of treatments and a maintenance schedule.

Anti-wrinkle injections use very fine needles and most clients describe a mild pinch. Filler uses topical anaesthetic and most products contain lidocaine. Lip filler is the most sensitive area; we numb thoroughly before treatment.

That is the goal, and the conservative-first approach means under-doing rather than over-doing on the first treatment. You can always add at a follow-up appointment. We do not chase a single house aesthetic.
