Sunekos is one of the treatments I am asked about most at the moment, and it is easy to see why: it targets exactly the concerns that are hardest to treat well, thin and crepey skin, tired under-eyes, and a loss of quality that no cream can reach. It is often described as a "hydration injectable", which is true but sells it short. Sunekos does more than hydrate. Here is what it actually is, and how it differs from the skin boosters and fillers you may already know.
What Sunekos is
Sunekos is a bio-regenerative injectable. Its patented formula pairs low molecular weight hyaluronic acid with a specific cluster of six amino acids: glycine, L-proline, L-leucine, L-lysine, L-valine, and L-alanine. Those amino acids are the raw building blocks your body uses to make collagen and elastin.
That combination is the whole point. Sunekos does not just add hyaluronic acid to the skin; it supplies both the hyaluronic acid and the materials your skin needs to rebuild its own supporting structure.
How it works
Beneath the surface, your skin is held together by the extracellular matrix, a scaffold of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid that keeps skin firm, bouncy, and hydrated. It thins and weakens with age.
Sunekos is designed to regenerate that matrix. The hyaluronic acid and amino acids signal your fibroblasts, the cells responsible for building skin structure, to produce fresh collagen and elastin of your own. The result develops gradually over the weeks following each session, and improves skin quality from within rather than sitting on top of the problem.
How Sunekos differs from a standard skin booster or filler
This is the question I answer most, so it is worth being clear. There are three different tools here.
- Dermal filler is a firm, cross-linked hyaluronic acid gel. It adds volume exactly where it is placed and holds its shape. Filler does not stimulate your cells to do anything; it is structural.
- A standard HA skin booster is soft, uncross-linked hyaluronic acid deposited into the skin. It hydrates and improves surface quality by drawing in moisture. Its main action is hydration.
- Sunekos pairs hyaluronic acid with the amino-acid building blocks of collagen and elastin, so it goes a step further: it regenerates the extracellular matrix and prompts your skin to make new collagen and elastin. It is not primarily about volume or surface hydration; it is about rebuilding quality.
In short: filler fills, a booster hydrates, and Sunekos regenerates.
Where Sunekos shines
Because its goal is skin quality rather than volume, Sunekos is particularly good for areas where filler would be too heavy and hydration alone is not enough:
- Under-eyes, where thin, crepey skin and fine lines are common, and where volume is rarely the answer.
- Neck and décolletage, where skin is delicate and shows age early.
- Overall facial skin quality, dullness, laxity, and fine "crepiness".
It is a considered choice, not a quick fix, and it often works beautifully alongside other treatments in a plan.
What to expect
Sunekos is delivered through several small injections across the treatment area. Most people find it comfortable, particularly with topical numbing. You may notice small bumps at the injection sites for a day or two. There is no significant downtime.
An initial course of sessions is standard, spaced a week or two apart, because you are building skin structure gradually rather than filling a line in one visit. Improvements develop over two to four weeks, with maintenance every few months to sustain the result.
